Here is a jakima I wove in the Andean Way in august of 2022. This way of weaving on a backstrap-loom feels like a real adventure and very different from weaving as I know it.
This is my first woven pattern. It is Kata (plainweave). It is really colorfull plainweave, and with those kind of contrasting colors, many patterns are possible.
The ayllwi was made by the Young Weavers of the CTTC in Peru, Cusco. The yarn is commercially spun twist added yarn.
